I am a Speech and Language Therapist from Bangladesh with over six years of clinical, academic, and leadership experience. I earned both my Bachelor & Masters degrees in Speech & Language Therapy (BSLP & MSLP) from Department of Communication Disorders, University of Dhaka. My work is focused on improving quality of life through evidence-based practice, innovation, and education.

Clinical practice
Supporting communication across the lifespan
My clinical experience spans pediatric and adult populations. I have worked with children diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down syndrome, developmental language disorders, speech delay, cerebral palsy, and other neurodevelopmental conditions. In adult rehabilitation, I have provided assessment and intervention for people with aphasia, dysarthria, dysphagia, cognitive-communication disorders, and other neurological conditions following stroke and brain injury. My experience in hospital-based rehabilitation and special education settings has shaped a comprehensive understanding of multidisciplinary care.

Building accessible, high-quality services
Currently, I serve as the Co-founder and Director of Speech & Language Therapy at Speech Aid Bangladesh Ltd. I lead a growing team of professionals dedicated to high-quality speech and language services, oversee clinical service delivery, supervise therapists, develop intervention programs, and design educational resources for families and professionals. I believe accessible, evidence-based services can significantly improve outcomes for people with communication disorders.

Assessment and play-based frameworks
Individualized assessment planning
I created the Speech Language Development Profile (SLD-Pro®), a comprehensive developmental assessment framework designed to support individualized intervention planning.
Communication growth through play
I developed the Play to Communicate (P2C) program, integrating speech and language therapy with therapeutic play principles to promote communication, social interaction, emotional regulation, and overall child development.
Families and professionals
Practical education and resources
Beyond clinical practice, I contribute to professional education and public awareness. I have developed parent resources including phoneme-based flashcards, children’s vocabulary materials, toy-function guides, developmental checklists, and autism screening resources. My goal is to give parents and caregivers practical tools that support communication development at home.
Research direction
AAC, aphasia and language recovery
My research interests focus on neurogenic communication disorders, particularly aphasia following stroke. I am especially interested in Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC), language recovery, Theory of Mind, and cognitive-communication rehabilitation. My long-term objective is to pursue doctoral research exploring innovative AAC interventions and culturally appropriate rehabilitation strategies for people with aphasia in Bangladesh and other multilingual settings.

Learning across therapeutic approaches
I value lifelong learning and interdisciplinary collaboration. Professional training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA), therapeutic play, and play-based speech therapy enables me to integrate multiple evidence-based approaches into clinical practice.

My ultimate goal is to make communication accessible for everyone and inspire the next generation of speech and language professionals through leadership, mentorship, and meaningful research.
